Do You Know Who You Want To Be In Your Community?

I’ve talked about why you should start creating ads and why you should stop using ads.

But the most important part is not creating the product, it’s about getting the sales.

You could spend hours and hours to create your product, but at the end no one buy it. You waste your time and you don’t get anything in return.

Creating products is very easy and selling it is easier

Actually, you could create a product in one night. Yes, many create their products in one day.

If it’s your first time, it could take you few days, but that’s not a problem either. You’ll get paid for this time spent for years and years to come, if you created a product that worth it.

And you know what, selling the product and providing it to your readers is easier.

With services like Selz, you could easily sell your product and get it in the hands of your readers without much problems.

The problem is in how to get the sales

Creating the product and selling it isn’t a problem. The problem is in how to get the sales.

Well, getting the sales is easy when you know who you want to target and engaging with them.

Many people miss the first point and they don’t know who they want to be their readers. They just want to get spikes of traffic. They want to get anyone who just have money on their blog.

This way you won’t get any. You will find it hard to get traffic. It’ll be harder to keep them on your blog.

So what should you do?

The obvious answer is to start getting people who might find your blog useful, but that’s not exactly what you should do.

You really need to go very specific in identifying your ideal reader.

Just profile one reader and imagine him whenever you write, promote, or even when you create your product.

Knowing your ideal reader will make your job easier.

You’ll know where they hang online, so you could get them to your blog.

You’ll know what they want, so you create a post providing them with what they want.

You’ll even know their pains and you could create a product solving that pain and this how you could profit well.

But it all starts with knowing your ideal reader. You need to know him well.

But how do you identify your ideal reader?

It’s great you asked it.

Here are the 5 steps you need to take to identify you ideal reader.

  1. Know his/her demographic and psychographic

  2. Locate them

  3. Understand them even more

  4. Sketch them

  5. Iterate.

Well, I won’t leave you like this. I’ve created this simple customer profiling worksheet to help you identify your ideal customer. Just answer the questions asked and follow the steps.

Last words

Identifying your ideal reader is something that many ignores, now you know it and you know how important it is.

You even know how to do it, what are you waiting for?

Start taking action and tell me what do you think?

And don’t forget your worksheet.
