It’s been a little more than a year since Facebook acquired mobile app development platform Parse, which will be a major force during Wednesday’s f8. Facebook bought Parse on April 25, 2013, and since then, Parse has seen an increase of 250 percent (more than 260,000) in the total number of apps built on the platform.

Facebook noted some key accolades and stats since the acquisition:

  • Tens of thousands of app developers depend on Parse every day.

  • More than 140,000 new developers signed up for Parse this year.

  • Large brands and businesses are using Parse, including Showtime, Fox News & Sports, eBay, and Samsung, as well as fast-growing companies like Quip, StubHub and Zoosk.

  • A significant portion of growth came from app developers in Europe and Asia, including Township (Russia), TopShop (UK), Play (Netflix of Russia), Facetune (Israel) , Groupon (Taiwan), Nordeus (Serbia), FC Barcelona (Spain), Businessweek China, Gaana (India) and Mixi (Japan).
